Using art as benefit for charity is personally interesting to me because I can see myself participating in a similar cause in the future. I don't expect that this form of activism will be ending anytime soon and I also don't think that it will be especially static. I really want to learn more about this because there are aspects of it that are still unclear to me. Such as, is it more common to an artist to donate all or some of the profits to a cause? And, is there a theme with who the benefactors are?
The subject is definitely current. It is a form of activism that is easily supported. What could be easier than helping the world simply by buying a pair of earrings or those great shoes?I changes constantly because new causes are being discovered as more problems with the world are brought to light. Also, so many forms of art and craftsmanship can be included: fine arts, jewelry, clothing, and even musical or performing arts.
I feel that the information will be available because the idea of this type of charity is rather new and is therefore is being targeted by the media. There are also many organizations that have already adopted this idea of giving patrons something back for their donation. I've already found information by chance in magazines and on television, and then I found a ton online.
I think that time will make a difference with the topic because I'm expected the idea to take of even more than it already has as time goes on. I also believe that the charities will come up with even more innovative ways to serve the patrons while the patrons are serving them. The impact of this effort will likely be better seen in time as well.
I'm going to find this challenging because it's such a a wide category. I think I'll have trouble focusing on one aspect so that a topic is clear. It's degree of difficulty will depend largely on how I handle it.
